A web portal for transport availability, cargo jobs and road limits across several governing bodies — auto-negotiated into one approved route per job.
The system
The platform calculates a route for a heavy-haulage load, then obtains the official approvals the vehicle needs before it is authorised to follow it.
Previously that was paperwork, completed by hand and submitted to every governing body a route touched — City Council, police, Energex, the Department of Main Roads and several others. One rejection sent the paperwork back to be revised and re-submitted, until the approvals were unanimous.
The system now does both halves: it calculates a suitable route, and it runs the approval round with the governing bodies, generating each revision as rejections come back.
What we built
A web portal with a registry of every vehicle in their fleet, tracking its capabilities.
A maintenance schedule and repair history, tracked per vehicle, to provide availabilities for jobs.
Creation of transport jobs - with cargo weight, pickup and destination addresses, and target deadlines.
Auto calculation of candidate routes against the restrictions — vehicles available, known route limitations, etc.
Job route proposals auto-generated for human review, then auto-submitted to every governing body.
An automated system reading responses from governing bodies; a rejection triggers a revision carrying a new route.
A full revisioning system - repeating submissions until approval is unanimous.
A job's approved route displayed on driver's mobile browser; paperwork auto-generated to satisfy inspections
