A platform, paired with unique electronic keys, that allows a postal service to track the schedules of access to public facing post boxes, in order to assess routes, adherence and efficiency.
The system
A set of unique electronic keys were designed to access public facing post boxes. The keys captured data along a postman's route, which when returned to base would recharge and upload their data to a platform. The platform would then assess the routes and box-access schedules to provide reports on adherence to regulations, and efficiency of routes.
What we built
An electronic key that detected a postal box being accessed, collecting data on location and timestamps.
A custom docking station for keys to be plugged into, to recharge each key.
Automatic transfer of data when keys are being plugged into the docking station.
A portal for administration staff to review the collected information and detect time-violations of compliance, as well as perform route-efficiency calculations.
Portal provides extensive reporting, dashboards, user and role management, preferences, and much more.
